Bridge of Hope is a 501c3 serving Families in Transition.  We provide furniture, household and kitchen items, clothing and food to those in need.  We work with families leaving shelters, domestic violence shelters, the elderly, those facing crisis, single parents and the refugee community here in San Diego.

We have been in operation since 2006, and in City Heights for four of those years.  The challenges we face each day are due to poverty.  Families are struggling more and more each day to put food on the table, let alone to provide a bed, a pair of shoes, diapers or school supplies..  Bridge of Hope helps with those daily needs.  We also are contacted 4-5 times a week by other social service agencies, to help their clients with furniture, clothing and food (ex: Jewish Family Services, YWCA, Rescue Mission and a number of safe houses sheltering domestic violence victims).

We have goals to one day have a community center- a place for classes, children and youth programs, computer lab, and special events for the community.  We also see the need for transitional housing, as San Diego’s homeless is increasing.
